OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Define human trafficking, recognize the different forms it can take (such as sex and labor trafficking), and identify basic statistics and myths surrounding this issue.

2. Recognize common signs and risk factors of human trafficking in various settings with attention to trauma-informed approaches for interacting with potential victims.

3. Recognize the principles of trauma-informed care and be equipped with practical strategies for responding to disclosures or suspicions of trafficking in a way that prioritizes survivor safety, empowerment, formed care and be equipped with practical strategies for responding to disclosures or suspicions of trafficking in a way that prioritizes survivor safety, empowerment and access to resources.
