OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Define trauma-informed care and leadership (“Expecto Patronum”) and describe how trauma impacts patient behavior and healthcare team performance across biological, psychological, and social domains. 

2. Recognize the “Dementors” of healthcare—burnout, moral injury, and secondary trauma—and their impact on staff well-being, decision-making, and patient outcomes. 

3. Apply trauma-informed “leadership spells” (e.g., psychological safety, peer support, connection-before-task, and structured debriefing) to strengthen resilience, team cohesion, and clinical culture.
