OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1.  Explain the pathophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and recognize associated comorbidities that warrant screening and diagnostic sleep studies.

2.  Describe comprehensive management strategies for OSA, including medical, behavioral, and non-surgical treatment options.

3.  Identify patients appropriate for advanced OSA therapies, including surgical interventions and hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation, and outline the relevant treatment options and inclusion criteria.
