OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 

1. Discuss a structured approach to hypertension diagnosis, including standardized BP measurement, out-of-office monitoring, and evaluation for secondary causes.

2. Discuss guideline-directed, mechanism-based pharmacologic strategies, including risk-based treatment thresholds and optimized multidrug regimens.
 
3. Assess emerging pharmacologic and device-based therapies, including novel RAAS-targeting agents and renal denervation.
