OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  

  1. Recognize early warning signs: Identify key clinical clues, patient history traits, and physical exam findings that suggest early ILD.
  2. Select initial diagnostic tests: Choose the right first-line tests with lab work, pulmonary function tests, and high-resolution CT scans.
  3. Determine referral timing and services: Recognize when patients should be referred to a specialized ILD pulmonary clinic for advanced care and multidisciplinary rounds.
