May 23, 2024

Effective September 1, 2023, the 88th Texas Legislature amended state law (Chapter 166: Advance Directives), impacting these areas of medical practice:

  • Surrogate decision-maker hierarchy
  • Informed Consent
  • DNAR Order Validation Form
  • Initiation of a DNAR order when patient lacks decision-making capacity
  • Obligation to notify Surrogate of new DNAR status
  • Revocation of a DNAR order
  • Process for resolving End-of-Life ethical disagreements

Join us for a look at the new updates to TADA

The new updates to TADA are welcomed refinements to the law, defining more options for documenting DNAR wishes, how to proceed when involved in various aspects of decision making and ethical disagreements, and other revisions.
