Nursing Grand Rounds is an ongoing series of various topics essential to nursing and patient care intended to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
Target Audience
Temple region nursing at Baylor Scott and White entities.
Learning Objectives
- Accurately identify early signs and symptoms of impending precipitous delivery, including maternal behavioral cues and physical changes.
- Demonstrate appropriate activation of the emergency response team in clinical and non-clinical settings (e.g., hospital, home, ambulance).
- Safely manage the delivery process, ensuring maternal and fetal safety, and perform immediate newborn care, including basic resuscitation measures.
- Deliver compassionate, trauma-informed care and clear communication to the patient and family during and after the delivery, addressing emotional, psychological, and informational needs.
