2025 Quality Alliance Lunch and Learn: Diabetes Subcommittee: No Sugarcoating: Insulin 101- 20251114
This educational activity is designed to close the gap between guideline recommendations and real-world clinical practice.
Primary care teams underuse insulin therapy despite clear evidence and updated guidance supporting its timely initiation. This gap is linked to limited familiarity with dosing protocols, lack of confidence in managing insulin safely, and incomplete coordination between providers and support staff. As a result, patients remain above glycemic targets longer than necessary, increasing the risk of complications.
Target Audience
Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Social Workers.
