OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Explain the ethical principles of beneficence and non-maleficence as they relate to conducting good faith peer reviews in clinical practice.

2. Describe the role of structured peer review in supporting performance improvement (PI) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives within healthcare systems.

3. Apply best practices for conducting effective peer reviews that promote patient safety and improved clinical outcomes.

4. Identify strategies to integrate peer review findings into departmental or system-level quality improvement processes.

5. Evaluate the impact of peer review on physician performance and patient outcomes using evidence-based metric
