Danny Little, MD - Session 1 - "Forest bathing"

  • Description: Physicians have faced increased levels of stress and burnout. The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike provides a unique opportunity for participants to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and connect with one another outdoors and away from work. Participants train for months to physically prepare for the demands of the hike. They will be provided a list of resources that currently exist on BSWH Wellbeing website. This list includes podcasts and YouTube presentations for participants to enjoy and reflect upon during training. Topics will cover wellness, burnout, EI, leadership, and professional development. At the pretrip meeting, participants will be guided in a group facilitation to discuss reflections to address the assigned objectives gained from the resources experienced during training. Participants will be introduced the concept of "Forest Bathing,” and instruct the group on the format for the other sessions.
