Childbirth Basics helps moms prepare for delivery during this most exciting time in your life. To assist those first-time parents, we offer comprehensive childbirth classes monthly, covering such topics as stages of labor and delivery, epidurals, postpartum care, breathing, relaxation and massage techniques, pain control strategies, interventions in labor, C sections and many more. Each class concludes with a tour of the OB Unit.
Hospital Tour: College Station (In-Person Maternity Tour)
Our hospital tour offers parents and siblings an opportunity to prepare for the big day.
We will take a tour and answer any questions that might help ease any anxiety and make the process more enjoyable! This tour is offered at no cost.
Please note: Tours are also offered as a part of the childbirth class.

This 3-week series focuses on preparation for childbirth, emphasizing the experience of labor and birth and the important role of the support person. A variety of comfort measures are taught and practiced in class, including relaxation and breathing techniques. Special Procedures and epidurals are discussed, as well as an overview of cesarean birth, postpartum, and the newborn.
Registration fee includes support person.

Breastfeeding Class: College Station (In-Person Patient Class)
This class for expectant parents focuses on the joys and common concerns of breastfeeding. Information includes the benefits for mothers and babies, initiating feedings, maintaining a milk supply and other practical considerations. Discussion includes combining breastfeeding and working and expression and storage of breast milk. Primary support persons are encouraged to attend.
Childbirth Essentials - College Station (In-Person Patient Class)
A one-day class designed to prepare new mothers and their birth partners for the childbirth experience. Will cover topics such as labor progression, pain control while in labor, natural labor techniques, cesarean section and what to expect specifically at Labor and Delivery | Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station
Breastfeeding Online Class - Waxahachie (Online Patient Course)
Learn about breastfeeding from the comfort of your home. Not every family is able to attend parent education classes in person, while others learn better with a self-study class. This interactive, web-based instructions contain animated illustrations, videos and games to make learning easy and fun.
An invitation to the online course will be given to you within 5 business days after you have completed the registration process.
Cesarean Birth Online - Waxahachie (Online Patient Course)
Sometimes a planned cesarean is a necessary surgical birth option for a healthy mom and a healthy baby. Becoming informed and prepared will help you gain understanding and help you make good choices. Learn about what to expect during your hospital stay and how to have a good recovery process when you return home.
This online class is well worth watching as you get ready for your baby's arrival.
